SwordArtOnline: IntegralFactor is a massively multiplayer online open world role-playing game developed by Bandai Namco.

Similar to the anime series, users play the main characters of the story in the same environment as the anime characters, who also participate in the user's journey. Users must aim to clear all 100 levels of Aincrad and upgrade their avatars to increase their powers and abilities. Users can team up with other players from around the world to conduct boss raids and successfully defeat the bosses to reach the next level of Aincrad.

The player character, a beta tester, is trapped in a match where they meet another beta tester named Haru, who plays during their test and commits to meeting the full game. The player, unaware of their situation, helps her practice her combat skills before realizing the lack of an exit button in the game menu.

Players and Haru are forced to grab as many resources as they can to survive, fighting all the way to the 100th level to pass, during which time all players will exit the game. However, dying in the game also means dying in real life. During their journey, players will meet several people who accompany them on their journey through the game of death.

A short comic shows that the players eventually discover that Haru is so afraid of death that they volunteer to train her, and together the two improve their stats. Soon after, the protagonist meets a player named Yuko, and Koharu makes a promise to Sachi that she will survive the Boss raid the team is about to take part in.

In the chief raid, players will fight alongside the team's leader, Diawel, and the protagonists of the original anime series, Kiryu and Asuna. Diawel attempts one last attack, but fails, leading the player to protect him from the Boss's fatal blow. He survives, while Kiryu is rewarded with a final attack, which leads the rest of the raid to accuse him of being a batterer, or a Beta tester and cheater in one.

The rest of the story continues in the video game, which currently covers levels 1-25. However, the events of levels 15-19 are not included in the game.

Players fight with several different types of weapons, including swords, thin swords, daggers, wolfsbane, bows, axes, and spears. Users can also use special powerful attacks, called sword skills, which can be activated at the end of a cooldown period. Users can equip up to four sword skills and perform them in quick succession with other players, which is called Switch. users can equip them with additional stats through the use of abilities or widely known passive skills. Skills are categorized by their rarity based on the number of stars and can be obtained from the store by purchasing orders or as a reward for quests or special events. Players can also equip potions in their potion slots to heal in battle. Users can equip up to 4 different potions at the same time.

Users exchange in-game currency called Colonel's Shop items. However, they can also spend Arcana Gems in the Arcana Gem Shop to purchase special, specialty or limited items and skills. Supreme Gems are more valuable and harder to obtain, and are usually given as a reward for earning achievements. In addition to killing monsters or clearing floors, users can also earn Col by swapping campaign items, but the game allows users to do a limited number of them, and the maximum col you can earn is 99,999,999 col.
