The initial driver level is 0 and can be upgraded by winning races and earning "reputation". Once you reach level 6, you will be rewarded with gold for each level. Gold rewards range from 3 to 100 coins, depending on the amount of prestige needed to move up. The game is divided into a number of different tournament series, each of which is subdivided into levels, each of which contains between 1 and 3 events.
Series: The game features a total of 135 series (as of June 2017), which can only be raced with series-assigned cars (most series allow four cars, but some only allow one, two or three). The game was originally released with only one series, and players could unlock races by purchasing the vehicle used for that series. However, with the 1.2 update in July 2013, new series must win a certain number of trophies in previous series to unlock them. Series-designated vehicles can be used in any race of that event, except for show races where only one designated vehicle can be used. This means that it is not possible for a player to complete 100% of the series unless they purchase all of the designated vehicles. For series completion of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, players are awarded R$ and Gold. To reach 100% completion, players race to win Gold Cups in each event.
Levels: Each series is broken down into 17 to 19 levels containing 1 to 3 races. When you first enter the series, only 1 level opens. Players need to win trophies or buy them with R$ or gold to open new levels.
Unlike the previous game, players need to maintain and repair their vehicles. If players do not repair, the performance of the vehicle will be significantly affected. Repairs and upgrades require R$ and take up a realistic amount of time, which is usually several hours, depending on the vehicle being serviced.
